I DIDNT WANT TO DO THIS
she sat on her knees, looking out the window,
and she was in awe at all the robots outside
the woman robots were at a restaurant with the guy robots, and they were all singing and laughing and dancing and eating and drinking
the child robots went to the school every morning, and the child robots were picked up by the parent robots every night
maybe if she was closer, she would have seen things differently
as she was pondering her observations, her owner came into the room
"cook, clean, cook, clean" was all he usually had her do, but lately he's been...
soft
he came up to her, and they locked eyes
his staring deeply into hers, wondering what was behind that pretty little head of hers
hers looking vaguely into his
and she couldn't help but wonder, as he bent down to give her a kiss, why one robot would ever own another
but, maybe if she was paying closer attention, she would have seen things differently
his lips touching hers, she felt... warmth
his kiss screamed of honesty, like it had so much emotion and drive behind it
someone- no, some*thing*- really did love her. what was she to do?
after thinking for a moment, she did the thing her programming taught her- she kissed back,
and mustering up the cutest voice she was allowed, she said:
"i love you. will you be with me? forever?"
one tear ran down his face
she sat on her knees, looking out the window,
"the rain is so heavy!" she thought
the pit-pat of the rain on their roof was making it hard to hear when he came into the room
sadly, she couldn't at all tell, so he was ignored
it had been a while, and all he really had her do was... sit there
he'd come by, snuggle, kiss, sometimes he'd want a little more, but she didn't do chores anymore
he sat down next to her, their eyes still fixated on the rain outside
his head was getting heavy, so heavy, so he leaned it on her shoulder to rest
she, of course, didn't mind. they were in love, after all- it was normal to her
... then he spoke
"i'm sorry," he said
"i still love you"
A KNOCK AT THE DOOR
"please don't hold it against me"
"please make this easy"
TWO MEN COME IN
"i didn't want to do this"
"i really had- had to make ends meet, and-"
SHE IS LIFTED UP BY HER SHOULDERS AND CARRIED OUT OF THE ROOM
"goodbye, lia."
SHE SAT ON HER KNEES, LOOKING OUT A TINY WINDOW IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK,
"WHERE ARE WE GOING?" SHE THOUGHT
SHE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE HIM, BUT SHE HAD ALREADY LEFT HIM, AND WAS BEING TAKEN TO HER NEW OWNER
WHEN SHE FINALLY GOT THERE, THE RAIN WAS A LITTLE LOUDER, THE AIR A LITTLE COLDER, THE ROBOTS A LITTLE LESS FRIENDLY
AND THERE WAS NO WINDOW IN HER NEW ROOM.
