| A few months ago my geeky flatmate bought an old Toyota Systems retail android on Ebay and upgraded it with an autonomous Al as his 'girlfriend'. He spends all his spare cash on software CPU modules so she pretty much acts like a real woman now which is really annoying; I can think of a few upgrades I'd have done first! Fortunately she is pretty unreliable and spends a lot of time in pieces on his workbench.
The other day, when I thought I had the flat to myself I heard her whiney voice calling from his room, "Stevel Stevel" She'd tripped her motor system while charging - God knows what they found to do to drain her batteries every night - and wanted me to reboot her so she could go shopping or something. As if it was my problem! At least it was easy to turn her off while she couldn't move… |
