You step forward, your purposeful stride meant to indicate to the attendant you have no intention of turning back.
She snarls and lunges, angrily singing, “Sarastra binds you to her will! Her god is false, her intentions, ill!”
The attendant collides with you, her dress swirling, her pale cleavage jostling. You stagger, nearly losing your footing over the edge as she tries to force you back. “Go back! Turn back! You must-“ with one misplaced step, she slips from the bridge, avoiding the plummet off its edge by clinging to your shoulders. She glances down at the churning fire and water and then back to you.
“You must turn back!” she sings, her fingers slipping.
