| Bioscan data from Emma's former human body, converted to personality software and digitised memories and installed into a host CPU, now runs as her 'self' in a Class 3 android body.
Human or not, maintenance mode overrides her control as easily as any robot. She stands passively while the tech tests her erogenous functions. Once he isolates the faulty code behind her recent glitches he'll reprogram her to improve performance, install any outstanding updates and load a few new applications requested by her husband and her employers. He'll reboot her in an hour or so, fully tested and with all faults corrected. She'll go about the rest of her day as an independent woman. She's fully aware she's just a machine now: maintained, upgraded or simply shut down as required; but she is no longer programmed to be concerned. |
