Jilly watched anxiously as the technician tweaked at her obsolete sim-board. Her manager had quickly got annoyed after she began to freeze and glitch out with customers and sent her to a repair shop where the faulty hardware had been diagnosed: it generated and controlled all of the involuntary human-like responses for her Class 4 android body. She hoped the component could be fixed as that model wasn't manufactured any more. A modern replacement would work perfectly but it would come with a new 'selectable" fill of preloaded facial expressions, mannerisms, breathing, even voices and none would properly match how she acted now, She might never be quite the same again…
