Even as of today, most commercial photography models are in fact androids. Extremely easy to work with, their matte, blemishes-free skin and their unremarkably pleasant, computer-averaged looks are a perfect fit for cameras and catalogs.

Most of them are also cheap products. Built for little more than a photogenic smile and a few poses, their rubbery faces are inexpressive, their interactivity limited to a few commands and canned responses. Their service life is expectedly short, with most presenting a significant fire hazard.

Thankfully, they are also easily replaceable. It is often more efficient to break a new one of these blow-up dolls out of storage and toss the old one aside than to try and fix it.
